Islam and Christianity in a few words

Page history last edited by Andrew Alder 5 years, 11 months ago

I should first disclose that I am a Christian.

I attempt to follow Jesus Christ, and it's a very narrow path, but is I believe the only really worthwhile path.

(Which is an extreme claim but maybe not as extreme as it first appears, which is one of the good things about Christianity at its best, but in common with several other religions. See practical religion when I get around to writing it.)

One of the precepts of Christianity is love your enemies. That's also rather radical.

One of the precepts of Islam, I am told, is my enemy's enemy is my friend. Now I am by training basically a logician (I even worked as one for two precious years, and outside of a University, which is even more unusual). And those two precepts seem to me to be very nearly logically opposites.

And the contrast might explain a lot, in my opinion.

See will the moderate moslems please stand up for my previous thoughts on this. But this seems a better and simpler approach to me. Comments welcome, there's a link below that lets you email me.
