Advocate nuclear power and it is inevitable that you will eventually be accused of opposing wind and solar, and challenged to produce your reasons for this supposed opposition.

Some nuclear power advocates may well oppose these, or at least question some of the hopes of their proponents. And they should be heard of course. But to say that I oppose solar and wind is a blatant straw_man. Because I don't. Nice try. Maybe. 

Solar, wind and nuclear are all well proven technologies, and are all parts of any rational energy policy.
