You attacked reason. It's bad theology. - Father_Brown in The_Blue_Cross
The Bad Theology page
Topic warning... this is a page of theology
Hopefully, not itself a bad page! So that's capital B, capital T and little p.
These all deserve pages of their own. And God willing, in time they'll get them. (And if there's a link, there already is one.)
And they're in no particular order.
Let's put Santa back into Christmas.
Pentecostalism
The problem isn't Pentecost or speaking in tongues. Those are good things. The problem is the ism.
Some Pentecostals put speaking in tongues first and the "higher gifts" second. Bad mistake.
Some even think that if you don't speak in tongues you're a second-rate Christian, and that therefore everybody should or at least want to. That's what I call the Pentecostal Heresy. Others even think that if you don't speak in tongues you're not a Christian at all. That's the Strong Pentecostal Heresy.
And some (predictably) react to this by rejecting speaking in tongues. That's what I call the Pentephobic Heresy.
And this is complicated by some well-meaning idiots who teach people to scat and tell them that this is speaking in tongues. No. You get the gift by prayer, not practice. And the tragedy of that is that it makes it a lot more difficult (but note, not impossible) for God to fill your mouth with His praise if you let these well-meaning idiots fill it with rubbish instead,
Tongues is happening. Interpretation is happening. But not nearly as much as God wants, because His voice is being drowned out by the noise. Isn't Satan clever? But God is greater. Choose whom you will serve.

Evangelism
My second favourite Rick Warren quote:
The churched and the unchurched agree on one thing: They both hate evangelism.
Why? Simply because so many well-meaning idiots have stood in pulpits and tried to make the hearers feel guilty if they didn't adopt some really stupid methods. And sometimes they've succeeded. See the Evangelism Think Tank at cyberchurch.
(My fave from Rick is God never wastes a hurt. Concise, perceptive and powerful.)
