A spectacular result indeed, and seems to justify the comment that accompanied it: Oh yeah, having that link is SO important. I'm assuming sarcasm there. The chart appears to indicate that the redirect had no traffic at all.
Let's see now what the real picture was:
In fact, almost one person in three who got to the article at all, came through the redirect.
Eventually the other party to the discussion, who claims to be an expert on use of the stats tool (and I certainly don't claim that myself), checked their link and provided the chart below as a correction (the screenshot is a bit later than the two above):
