the fossil fuel bridge

Page history last edited by Andrew Alder 2 years, 11 months ago

Preamble

Back in the early days of the environmental movement, there was talk of a fossil fuel bridge to provide the world's energy needs until technologies like hydro, wind and solar could take over.

It was argued that this made nuclear power unnecessary. That was the whole point of the fossil fuel bridge. But like so many other blunders, this has now been airbrushed from the history of the environmental movement, fairly successfully.

This page is dedicated to uncovering what sources there still are, in order to document this little part of history. Those who know no history are destined to repeat it. But those who reinvent history are far more dangerous.

Watch this space, and help in building it welcome... please contact me if you have any references. From memory Paul_Ehrlich might have been one of the promoters, perhaps even the inventor, of the concept.
